France 24’s competitor launched

Al-Jazeera English, the English version of the international news network al-Jazeera, has launched yesterday. Available on cable in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, the new network is expected to be a major France 24 competitor. Both networks are expected to bring a different point of view on the news to offset the American and British leadership from CNN, Fox News and the BBC.

To analyze the new network, I started another weblog:

  3. I am curious to see what will France 24 will bring.

  4. Hello, everyone concerning the new French 24 channel. I would like to say that i am a very strong supporter of Aljazeera english. In my opinion there isn’t another national news source in the world that compares with Aljazeera english. I would also add that i will be watching french 24 with open eyes and mind, hoping that French 24 will not just be an addition to all the lapdog news reporting around the world to the Bush administration.

I hope that French 24 will bring a professional and balanced reporting agenda that is pro-human rights, pro-democratic, and multi-cultural as in its total reporters who will bring the news to the world to the best of there ability. The worlds that i have just spoken descbribes aljazeera english and im sure that French 24 will be a progressive force and international media and will not stand alone with the best, such as Aljazeera. At this time, in my opinion, CNN has lost their way in connecting to common sense and reporting the news without a political slant that is pro-right wing or pro-Bush foreign policy. Cnn gets a zero on a scaale from one to ten. The BBC gets a 5 on a scale from 1-10 in my opinion. Aljazeera net gets the total ten on a scale from one to ten.

Im sure French 24 will be at a 10 on a scale from 1-10 after watching its reporting in the first month or so.

    Thanks everyone,:)
    Gary from St. Louis
